You probably would not imagine that drinking water leads to less water retention in the body. The human body tends to store water when it feels water is scarce.

Drinking more water allows the body to eliminate excess water without diuretic medications.

Tips for staying hydrated

  • Keep a bottle of water with you during the day
  • Purchasing bottled water is expensive and creates plastic bottle waste
  • Carry a reusable glass water bottle and fill it from the tap instead
  • Try adding a slice of lemon or lime to your drink
  • Be sure to drink water before, during and after exercise or workout
  • When you’re feeling hungry, drink water as thirst is often confused with hunger
  • True hunger will not be satisfied by drinking water
  • If you have trouble remembering to drink water, drink on a schedule.
  • For example, drink water when you wake up; at breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and when you go to bed. Or drink a small glass of water at the beginning of each hour.

Have you ever wondered how to lose weight naturally?

Natural weight decrease is the most simple and effective way for permanent weight loss.

It’s not about dieting; it’s all about understanding your body and calorie intake while making gradual micro-changes to your eating habits which helps you lose the weight for good.

Can losing weight can be as simple as basic math?

Calories you eat minus calories you burn…

If the difference is negative, you lose weight.

If the difference is positive, you gain weight.

Now, if you exercise you are using more calories so you’d expect to burn more calories.

In fact, if you can control the number of calories you eat on a daily basis you can lose weight even without exercising.

Let’s take a look at few examples:

What if you eat 2000 calories a day?

You burn 1800 calories while doing day-to-day tasks (working, walking, thinking. Yes, your brain burns calories as well).

You burn another 300 calories at the gym every day.

The end result is 2000 – (1800 + 300) = -100 calories.

What this means is you burn 100 calories a day.

If you keep this up for 35 days, you lose one pound.

Why 35? Because one pound of weight is equal to 3500 calories.

Example 2:

What if you eat 2000 calories and burn 1800 calories on your daily routine and you don’t exercise at all?

Daily calorie difference is 2000 – 1800 = 200.

What this means is at the end of the day, you have 200 extra calories.

If you continue to keep this up for 17 days, you have accumulated 17 x 200 = 3400 calories, which is almost one pound of extra weight.

Example 3:

What if you eat 1500 calories and you burn 1500 calories on your daily routine?

Daily calorie difference is 1500 – 1500 = 0.

What this means is at the end of the day, you would be the same weight as in the morning.

What if you keep this up? Weight stays constant…make sense?.

As you can see from the examples above, controlling your weight is as simple as reducing calories you eat, increasing calories you burn or a combination of both.

You can control both of those factors and it is just a matter of setting your fitness goal and committing to a healthy eating plan.

Unlike the examples above, you don’t necessarily have to follow same routine every day.

It is OK to have days when you have a surplus of calories as long as you burn them off in other days.

Enjoy and have fun with your fitness adventures, plan to follow as much as you can until you reach your normal healthy weight.

There’s no point in starve yourself. Not only will your body go into starvation mode (so it’ll be harder for you to lose weight), starving yourself play havoc on health like hair loss.

Remember being thin is not always a realistic goal or most important decision in life.
